“Just to say a huge thank you for helping me with Max. I hope this gift will
help you with your time and you enjoy it”
“(Emma) thrives on positiveness and takes constructive criticism very well -
which is exactly the way you and Sue teach – so, looking good! Bobby loves
it – it’s almost like he knows what to do and is just waiting for Emma to
catch up!”
“It’s been great to have your advice & support in these all important early
months. You are an amazing font of doggy knowledge. Thank you!”
“Gemma is very fun to work with and has loads of enthusiasm towards agility.
She also gives great advice about courses and training and knows her stuff!”
A big thank you for your bits & pieces, it is all very helpful and much
appreciated.”
“Thank you so much! Hattie & I wouldn’t have got anywhere without your
training and support”
“Hi Gemma, thank you so much for my lesson this afternoon, you really do
give our confidence a boost.”
“Just to let you know we are both really enjoying it (beginner agility course)! Tally loves it and Sue has been brilliant and very patient!”
As well as feedback from our handlers, we feel it is also useful for you to see how other trainers rate our ability to teach our own dogs as well as others. As they are dog handlers & trainers themselves, they are well-placed to pass comment on our teaching skills.
On Gemma & Kai’s relationship:
“It’s uncanny how Gemma ‘gets’ her dogs. She is completely in tune with their ability to learn and take on new information, and is good at praising the dog when it has done well. A rare skill in the sheepdog handlers I usually teach. It was only a shame she and Kai were unable to fulfill their potential – he would have made a great farm dog, if not quite enough finesse for trialling”
On Gemma’s handling & training skills:
“I have known Gemma for approximately 8 years and believe that she would make an excellent addition to the growing number of KCGC trainers, Gemma currently teaches and trains her dogs in agility and is a consummate professional in both the way she trains her own dogs and those people that attend her training classes. Gemma only uses positive reinforcement training methods believing that toys and treats provide greater motivational keys to any training, and is also an advocate of clicker training.
One of Gemma’ s great strengths is her desire to keep learning and developing her skills and knowledge base she is always willing to try new ideas and if she feels her abilities are lacking in any area or she does not have enough knowledge she actively seeks information via reading websites and training days at her own expense to be able to have a better understanding of the needs of both owners and there dogs
I believe anyone lucky enough to start training with Gemma would benefit from her experience and level of commitment.”
